Job summary

Dallas County is seeking a Lead Vault Clerk for the Sheriff-Intake Release area in Dallas, Texas. The role includes receiving, processing and reconciling cash, deposits and other instruments, and training Clerks as a lead.

You will balance tills, prepare reports, resolve account questions, and support public interactions, with emphasis on accuracy and adherence to procedures. Requires high school diploma and typing speed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or GED, plus 3 years related experience or 45 college hours.
• Ability to type 30 wpm and use mainframe data-entry programs or spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Receives and processes deposits and other instruments.
• Counts, locates and reconciles discrepancies of register money.
• Completes daily cash register entries and balances cash registers.
• Acts as lead Clerk by training Clerks and directing tasks.
• Answers questions and resolves more complex issues regarding accounts with staff or the public.
• Researches, locates, pulls and issues documents.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
