Job summary

Arizona State University is seeking a Utility Piping Specialist to support steam infrastructure and the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems on the Tempe campus. The role requires reading drawings and performing precision piping work with brazing and soldering techniques.

The position is based at the Tempe Main Campus with potential work at other campus locations as needed. A strong background in plumbing/piping and relevant codes is essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or four-year technical training in plumbing.
• 3 years or equivalent experience in plumbing and/or mechanical-pipefitting systems.
• Ability to read plans, drawings, and work orders.
• Knowledge of ASME/ASTM standards and codes.
• Experience with pumps, boilers, cooling towers, chillers, and piping systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and piping.
• Locate and replace malfunctioning parts using hand and power tools.
• Inspect components and perform soldering/brazing on piping and vessels.
• Work from drawings, specifications, and work orders.
• Maintain steam, chilled water, domestic water, and RO lines.
• Assist other trades and respond to maintenance requests.
