Arizona State University in Tempe seeks a General Maintenance Mechanic Lead with a solid maintenance background in institutional settings to coordinate work and perform repairs across electrical, plumbing and carpentry trades.

The role is based on the Tempe campus and may require work at other ASU locations; it runs Monday through Friday, 6:30am–3:00pm. The position opens as needed and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and three years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or training.
• One year lead experience in hospitals/schools/large facilities.
• Experience in 120/277V electrical maintenance and repair.
• Experience in plumbing maintenance and repair of hospitals, schools, or large facilities.
• Experience in carpentry maintenance and repair of hospitals, schools, or large facilities.
• Evidence of effective communication skills to perform essential functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead trades work coordinating others and performing general maintenance.
• Electrical maintenance: lighting, ballasts, switches, receptacles, and testing.
• Plumbing maintenance: repair of restrooms, labs, and kitchens; replace fixtures.
• Carpentry maintenance: doors, fixtures, flooring, ceilings, drywall touch-ups.
• First response to elevator trouble calls and basic troubleshooting.
• Use hand and power tools and maintain daily logs and records.
• Interact effectively with customers and students.
