Job summary

Pfizer is seeking a laboratory-based leader to drive upstream process development for mammalian cell culture and microbial fermentation in Vaccines EBPD. The role combines science leadership with program management across platforms to optimize yield and product quality.

The successful candidate will direct design of experiments, scale-up, tech transfer, and cross-functional collaboration, leveraging high-throughput tools and GMP-focused development. Relocation support available.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS/BS with substantial relevant experience in upstream bioprocess development.
• Deep hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture or microbial fermentation on automated/high-throughput platforms.
• Ability to lead development efforts across platforms and to communicate findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific and people leadership for the upstream process development workstream in Vaccines EBPD.
• Design, execute, and communicate complex studies to improve cell growth, expression, yield, and quality.
• Lead evaluation of production hosts/cell lines, media, feeds, and bioreactor parameters.
