Job summary

Meridian Bioscience is seeking a Scientist, Upstream Process Development to drive improvement of immunological reagents, including recombinant proteins and antibodies. The role focuses on mammalian cell culture, process optimization, and scalable workflows from bench to production.

The candidate will troubleshoot processes, support tech transfer to Production and Quality Control, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners in a fast-paced biopharma setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in Virology, Biochemistry, or Molecular Biology.
• 10+ years with a BS, 8+ years with an MS, or 0–2+ years with a PhD in relevant fields.
• Proven track record in mammalian cell culture, viral propagation, and upstream bioprocess development.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize upstream processes for viral antigens and recombinant proteins.
• Scale from lab to production, including seed-train and bioreactor workflows.
• Collaborate with downstream, analytical, QA, and production teams.
• Plan experiments, analyze data, and document results clearly.
• Lead tech transfer and support GMP/ISO 13485 readiness.
