Job summary

Nirvana Insurance is seeking a Program Leader to design and own a profitable, niche underwriting program on our AI-native platform. You will craft the market strategy, set risk appetite, and build the distribution network with brokers and partners.

You’ll lead the line underwriter function, oversee pricing, and ensure disciplined underwriting across new business and renewals while collaborating with tech and data teams for scalable operations. Equity and compelling compensation accompany growth.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of underwriting in a specialty or commercial line.
• Portfolio management experience, large scale (ideally $50M+ premium).
• Ability to articulate a niche program thesis and profitability.
• Proven underwriting discipline and guidelines experience.
• Experience building and managing broker relationships.
• Entrepreneurial drive and comfort with ambiguity.
• Experience launching new programs or segments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the program strategy, risk appetite, underwriting guidelines and operating rhythm with senior leadership.
• Lead underwriting for the program, pricing risks and handling new business and renewals.
• Own brokerage relationships to drive growth and set production goals.
• Collaborate with leadership, engineering, product and data science to shape the platform and workflows.
• Manage relationships with reinsurers and capacity partners, including reporting and renewals.
• Build and lead the program team as it scales.
