Job summary

CRC Group is seeking a Team Underwriter to evaluate, select, and manage underwriting risks within established guidelines. This role handles new and renewal business, provides technical expertise, and coordinates underwriting teams to ensure compliant and consistent execution across the portfolio.

The position emphasizes leadership within a multi-line underwriting environment, mentoring less experienced underwriters and ensuring alignment with internal standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or relevant insurance designation required or preferred.
• Strong underwriting analysis and risk assessment capabilities.
• Knowledge of underwriting guidelines, rating methodologies, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal business within delegated authority.
• Manage underwriting workflow through submissions, binding, policy servicing, and documentation.
• Monitor production metrics such as retention and risk spread to support portfolio quality.
• Review and resolve underwriting issues including inspections, servicing requests, and coverage adjustments.
• Collaborate with producers, agents, and internal teams to ensure timely communication and execution of decisions.
• Provide leadership and coordination across underwriting teams, ensuring policy adherence and proper guidance.
• Mentor and support the development of less experienced underwriters.
