Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or electrical engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required or actively pursued.
• Minimum 5 years' underground distribution/transmission experience.
• Strong knowledge of overhead/underground construction methods and electrical equipment.
• Experience with field inspections and surveying procedures advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of engineers and designers on underground transmission projects.
• Support business development activities and thought leadership (conferences, marketing, internal projects).
• Develop technical specifications and documentation for underground projects including manholes, conduits, and cable designs.
• Lead routing, cost estimation, and feasibility discussions with clients and stakeholders.
• Perform field measurements, ampacity calculations, and grounding/bonding studies.
• Prepare proposals, project estimates, and execution schedules.
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and external personnel throughout project execution.
• Assist project management in monitoring progress and reporting.
• Define scopes of work for surveying and subsurface utility locating and integrate survey data into designs.
• Incorporate installation methods such as direct burial, duct banks, and trenchless techniques.
• Specify cables such as XLPE and HPFF as project needs.
