Job summary

Northeastern University seeks a Student Financial Services professional to advise undergraduate students and families on financial aid, assisting with applications, awarding, and verification. You will collaborate with campus departments to resolve issues and support operational processes for scholarships and federal aid.

You will supervise counseling staff, coordinate workload, and contribute to recruitment events while ensuring compliance with federal and institutional policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• Experience with budget reconciliation and Title IV regulations.
• Detail oriented with ability to organize multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Effective written, oral, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Experience with PowerFAIDs preferred.
• Ability to balance institutional policies and aid program regulations with individual needs of students.

Responsibilities

• Advise and counsel undergrad students and families on financial aid availability and processes.
• Review aid applications and complete awarding based on policies.
• Perform verification procedures, review appeals, and intercede for students with campus departments.
• Assist with operations within the undergraduate financial aid team and budgeting.
• Hire, train and supervise financial aid counselors and represent SFS at recruitment events.
