Job summary

Northeastern University seeks an experienced Sr. Assistant Director of Federal and State Aid Programs to oversee Federal/State campus-based aid, Pell, and state programs. You will design policies, ensure compliance with regulations, and supervise a team while delivering high-quality student service.

You will counsel students on aid availability, verify applications, manage audits, and collaborate with Deans, Registrar, and co-op units to ensure timely aid delivery and accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree desired.
• Four to six years of related experience with budget reconciliation and knowledge of Title IV/state regulations.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational, written, oral and leadership skills.
• Experience with PowerFAIDs preferred.
• Ability to build strong working relationships throughout the university.

Responsibilities

• Manage budgets, awarding policies/procedures, compliance and reporting for Federal and State aid programs.
• Monitor and reconcile Pell and Federal/state aid funds and reports.
• Advise and counsel students and families on financial aid and process.
• Supervise and develop staff of counselors and administrators.
• Coordinate audits/self-audits and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations.
