Job summary

Plasser American is seeking a Chief Operator to lead Rail Flaw Detection operations across the United States. You will oversee ultrasonic testing processes, interpret rail data, and ensure high-quality results while maintaining safety and company standards.

Travel up to 75% is required to oversee field operations; a strong safety record, supervisory experience, and proficiency with rail testing equipment are essential. Competitive benefits and a full-time role are offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in the RFD industry or related leadership roles.
• 3–5 years’ experience on Class I railroads.
• ASNT Ultrasonic Levels I & II completed.
• Valid driver’s license Class A or B preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the execution of Rail Flaw Detection operations and ensure quality.
• Supervise Rail Detector crew and maintain a safe, professional environment.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and proper logbook maintenance.
• Complete daily, maintenance, trip and incident reports; manage vehicle upkeep.
