Plasser American Corp in Chesapeake, Virginia, seeks a Chief Operator with Ultrasonic Rail Testing expertise to oversee field operations, interpret test data, and ensure the highest safety and quality standards across US inspection vehicles. You will lead a team of operators, train new staff, maintain DOT compliance, and coordinate with Field Managers while traveling up to 75% of the time.

A strong safety record and ASNT Ultrasonic Levels I/II are required, with vehicle maintenance and data

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in the Rail Flaw Detection industry or related leadership roles.
• 3–5 years’ experience on Class I railroads is preferred.
• Knowledge of Rail Flaw Detection testing practices and a strong safety record.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the proper operation of flaw detection and detector car personnel.
• Maintain safety, compliance with DOT regulations, and a high standard of workmanship.
• Provide high-quality testing, train and mentor Operators, and ensure customer satisfaction.
