Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to build and inspect UAV systems, assemblies, and propulsion subsystems. You will work with engineers and other technicians to ensure all hardware meets stringent mechanical and performance standards.

The role requires assembling components, following detailed drawings, performing checks, and supporting prototyping plus low-rate production. Strong attention to detail and safety are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on mechanical assembly experience in UAVs, aerospace, or related field.
• Experience following engineering drawings and build documentation.
• Soldering with IPC 610 certification or demonstrated equivalent.
• Proficient with hand and power tools and shop equipment.
• Ability to inspect parts visually and dimensionally for conformance.
• Strong attention to detail and good documentation practices.
• Self-directed in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble UAV components and mechanical subsystems per specs and work instructions.
• Ensure proper alignment, torque, and fastening to meet quality standards.
• Interpret drawings, wiring diagrams, and build docs with accuracy.
• Perform functional and mechanical checks on assemblies.
• Assist with part prep: deburring, trimming, polishing, and post-cleaning.
• Support additive manufacturing operations and material handling.
• Conduct basic mechanical and electrical integration, including avionics installation.
• Operate shop equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain build records and traceability for assemblies.
