Job summary

Cowboy Space Corp. in San Carlos, CA seeks a Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineer to own turbopump hardware manufacturing, from design-for-manufacture direction to final assembly.

You will establish build processes, tooling, control plans, and ensure contamination control for high-speed rotating assemblies. Ideal candidates have 8+ years in precision mechanical, rotating, or propulsion hardware, with experience in rotor balancing, welding/brazing, tooling design, and DfM optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or related engineering field.
• Hands-on ownership of build and assembly processes on the floor.
• Experience dispositioning nonconforming hardware and developing rework or repair workscopes.
• Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and CMM inspection.

Responsibilities

• Own turbopump hardware build process definitions: routings, work instructions, process specs, inspection plans.
• Own turbopump assembly on the floor: fit-up, balance, torque, preload, final acceptance.
