Job summary

Cowboy Space Corp. is seeking an experienced engineer to own turbopump hardware manufacturing from DfM to final assembly. You will define build routings, procedures, and inspection plans, and lead floor assembly with balance, torque, and acceptance testing.

You will drive design improvements, create tooling, and ensure cleanliness. Responsibilities include root-cause analysis, yield optimization, and supplier support in new processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Aerospace engineering.
• Hands-on ownership of build and assembly processes on the floor.
• Experience dispositioning nonconforming hardware and creating rework plans.
• Knowledge of GD&T, precision machining, and CMM inspection.

Responsibilities

• Own turbopump hardware build and routing definitions from design to final assembly.
• Define processes, work instructions, and inspection plans at each step.
• Oversee turbopump floor assembly, balance and torque control.
• Design tooling for machining, assembly, and handling.
• Drive DfM iterations and cost improvements.
• Maintain cleanliness and contamination control across pumps.
• Disposition nonconformances and lead root-cause repairs.
• Manage cycle time, yield, and production rate readiness.
• Support suppliers in process capability and first article qualification.
