Job summary

Pape’ Kenworth in Oregon is seeking an Advanced Truck Technician/Mechanic to join our team. You’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain medium and heavy Class 7 & 8 trucks, leading by example while upholding the highest safety and quality standards.

In this role you’ll mentor other technicians, analyze complex mechanical and electrical faults, and determine the best repair strategies. You’ll be part of a supportive shop that emphasizes training, growth, and exceptional uptime for customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working on medium and heavy‑duty class 7/8 trucks, including engine repair, electronic trouble‑shooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair.
• Basic computer knowledge. Cummins and MX software experience preferred.
• Self‑motivation and assertiveness.
• Ability to work under little or no supervision.
• Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
• Must provide own tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of medium and heavy Class 7 & 8 trucks.
• Mentor and resource for other technicians in the shop.
• Analyze complex mechanical and electrical malfunctions and determine repair strategies.
• Execute repairs or rebuilds on major systems including engines, transmissions, axles, steering, brakes, clutches, electrical and air systems.
• Maximize uptime and return trucks to road safely and correctly the first time.
• Work with team to ensure safety and quality in every task.
