Job summary

Pape’ Kenworth in Portland, OR is seeking an Experienced Truck Technician to maintain and repair medium and heavy‑duty Class 7 & 8 trucks, ensuring every job is completed accurately and efficiently.

You will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, rebuild major components, and work with a team in a fully equipped shop. The 7:00am–3:30pm shift options provide work‑life balance and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience on medium/heavy-duty class 7/8 trucks including engine repair and electrical troubleshooting.
• Kenworth Essentials certifications preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge; Cummins and MX software experience preferred.
• Self-motivation and assertiveness.
• Ability to work under little or no supervision.
• Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
• Must provide own tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair medium and heavy-duty Class 7 & 8 trucks to high standards.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues; restore peak performance.
• Repair or rebuild major components including cabs, steering, engines, transmissions, axles, brakes, electrical and air systems.
• Collaborate with other technicians in a fully equipped shop.
• Schedule: Monday–Friday or Tuesday–Saturday, 7:00am–3:30pm.
