Job summary

TxDOT Houston District is seeking a Transportation Specialist III to serve as Schematic Team Lead. This role leads schematic development, mentors staff, and coordinates multi-disciplinary efforts for highway projects.

The candidate will work with OpenRoads Designer to prepare schematics, exhibits, and preliminary layouts while collaborating with Environmental, Design, Traffic, ROW, Utilities, and Project Management teams.

Qualifications

• 5 years transportation design, construction, traffic operations, maintenance, or bridge inspection experience.
• Experience participating in public meetings and stakeholder engagements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate in-house schematic development efforts and project exhibits.
• Mentor staff and manage project assignments from planning to PS&E development.
• Support project delivery and coordination with Environmental, Design, Traffic, ROW, Utilities, and PM personnel.
• Oversee design work among TxDOT entities, consultants and contractors.
• Lead, assign, review, and monitor the work of others and prepare budgets and consultant work orders.
