Job summary

Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE) is seeking a Schematic Design Engineer to join our team in Houston or San Antonio, Texas. You will contribute to the design and development of transportation infrastructure, leading schematic work and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate has 8–12 years of relevant design experience, Texas PE licensure or eligibility within 6 months, and proficiency in MicroStation.

Qualifications

Proven experience in preliminary and final roadway design for complex interchanges and highways.
Must hold or be eligible for Texas PE licensure within 6 months.
Experience with MicroStation is required; GIS is preferred; OpenRoads-DU a plus.

Responsibilities

Prepare scope of work and fee proposals for engineering/schematics assignments.
Lead planning, management, and delivery of surface transportation projects focusing on schematic development.
Serve as primary client contact to understand needs and ensure satisfaction during delivery.
Direct multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated design solutions across roadway disciplines.
Oversee project scope, schedule, budget, and quality to meet standards and client requirements.
Guide development of schematic design alternatives and corridor analyses.
Support production of technical documents, reports, and presentations; identify and mitigate risks.
Assist business development through client relationships and pursuit strategy.
