Job summary

Halff Associates, Inc. in Richardson, TX is seeking a Design Engineer (PE) for our Transportation team. The candidate will lead TxDOT schematic projects, mentor staff, and apply OpenRoads and MicroStation expertise to deliver quality roadway design.

The role emphasizes project leadership, client collaboration, and adherence to standards, with growth opportunities within Halff’s transportation practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or ABET-accredited equivalent.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas.
• 5+ years of roadway project development experience with DOT/municipal projects (Texas preferred).
• Must have MicroStation CADD and OpenRoads experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead production and manage production staff on TxDOT schematic projects, coordinating with project members, teams, and subconsultants to meet deliverables, schedules, costs and plans.
• Apply technical expertise by adhering to project standards, criteria, deliverables and best practices.
• Lead complex engineering design tasks and collaborate with staff in transportation project development.
• Assist in defining and managing project scopes, budgets, and schedules with clients and stakeholders.
• Build strong client relationships and ensure satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure quality control to meet Halff and client standards and applicable codes.
