Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking an experienced Transportation Network Design Lead to optimize routing and network strategies across the US. You will mentor a team, drive cost savings, and collaborate with Legal, Finance, and 3PL partners to deliver measurable improvements.

You will analyze cost-to-serve, leverage Descartes WinRoute and Alteryx, and present insights to executives. A strong background in analytics and transportation operations is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, industrial engineering, or related field preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in transportation analytics, network design, or data modeling preferred.
• Strong knowledge of domestic transportation modes, regulations, and warehousing operations.
• Experience with network optimization and analytics tools (Descartes WinRoute & Alteryx preferred).
• Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
• Advanced quantitative and analytical skills including statistics, regression modeling, and optimization.
• Excellent business writing and communication skills for presenting data to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of transportation network design specialists.
• Identify and assess opportunities to improve logistics capabilities and service optimization.
• Optimize routing and location strategies using advanced modeling software.
• Design, implement, and maintain routing solutions to drive cost savings.
• Conduct cost-to-serve and fleet equipment analysis for strategic decisions.
• Apply statistical analysis, regression modeling, and optimization to improve processes.
• Lead transportation cost modeling and support customer contract negotiations.
• Develop and operationalize new logistics capabilities through standardized processes.
• Build relationships across the enterprise to inform decisions and gather feedback.
• Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Supply Chain Planning, Sales, and 3PL carriers to ensure alignment.
• Translate analytics into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders and leadership.
• Ensure network designs are feasible with real-world transportation and warehousing capabilities.
