Texas Department of Transportation seeks a Transportation Maintenance Specialist VI to lead a crew of maintenance technicians and equipment operators in performing skilled transportation maintenance tasks. The role involves responding to emergencies, coordinating with private entities, and ensuring safety and efficiency on the job.

You will report to a maintenance supervisor, oversee daily work assignments, supervise contract workers, and provide guidance on complex issues.

Formación

• 5 years experience in roadway maintenance work; college education or technical training may substitute on a year-for-year basis.
• Must have Class A CDL with 120 days to obtain N endorsement; mandatory Commercial Driver Certificate and Safety Impact Certificate.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a state vehicle.

Responsabilidades

• Lead a crew of maintenance technicians and equipment operators performing skilled transportation maintenance activities.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate response with other crews and contractors.
• Estimate materials and equipment; inspect roads and report problems to supervisors.
• Oversee work of maintenance contractors and sign technicians; schedule daily tasks.
• Train crew members on equipment use; approve leave requests to ensure coverage.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
