Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equivalent.
• 6+ years in roadway maintenance or construction, with substitution options.
• Valid driver’s license and Class A CDL; ability to drive a state vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Assist in budgeting for the section and oversee crews and contractors.
• Schedule equipment, materials and personnel for section projects.
• Plan and implement emergency responses to weather, accidents, and spills.
• Ensure projects follow established safety guidelines.
• Handle public complaints and inspect road work progress.
• Lead transportation maintenance crews and staff.
• Operate light and heavy roadway equipment as needed.
• Manage section in supervisor’s absence and approve leave.
• Provide updates to the supervisor and assist in career conversations.
• Report for duty quickly in emergencies and comply with safety rules.
