Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking a Transportation Technician III to lead inspection on statewide transportation projects. You will supervise inspection staff, verify conformance to plans, measure quantities, and maintain field records while coordinating with agencies and contractors.

The role requires an associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Survey Technology, five years of experience, and an active driver's license.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Survey Technology or related curriculum.
Five years of progressive technician level experience or equivalent.
Active driver's license and ability to interpret highway plans.
Knowledge of DOT Standards and Roadway Drawings and field testing procedures.
NCDOT certifications preferred including Concrete Field Technician, QMS Roadway Technician.

Responsibilities

Inspect contractor operations on transportation projects to verify conformance to plans.
Supervise and maintain inspection staff on site.
Measure and track quantities for pay items.
Maintain records including material certifications and diaries.
Interact with public, agencies, contractors and others to resolve field issues.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
