Job summary

Felsburg Holt & Ullevig is seeking a mid-level Transportation Design Engineer for our Greenwood Village office. The role centers on design and plan production for multimodal corridors, roadways and interchanges, coordinating with subconsultants as needed.

The candidate will use Civil3D and MicroStation/InRoads/Open Roads for design modeling, lead roadway design elements, and mentor junior staff while delivering compliant project documents on time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Civil Engineering Degree from an accredited four-year college or university is required.
• 5 to 10 years of transportation engineering experience including but not limited to roadway, highway, interchange, trail and/or transit design engineering.
• Professional engineer licensed in the State of Colorado. If licensed in another state will be required to obtain a CO PE license within six months after start date.
• Modeling, design, and plan production experience with Civil3D and/or MicroStation/InRoads/Open Roads.
• Experience in development of roadway plans, specifications, and opinions of probable costs
• Ability to multi-task several projects at once time while staying on budget and on schedule
• Ability to prepare technical reports and business correspondence with Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

• Develop design criteria for trails, roadways, intersections, and interchanges.
• Complete conceptual designs and vertical/horizontal layout.
• Coordinate data collection for surveys and geotechnical investigations.
• Lead roadway design with Civil3D and related tools.
• Oversee junior engineers and the production of plan sets.
• Prepare project specifications and documentation.
• Maintain organized records and project communications.
• Assist with project meetings and schedules.
