Job summary

Felsburg Holt & Ullevig in Greenwood Village, CO, is seeking a full-time Transportation Design Engineer (mid-level) to work on multimodal corridor projects across private, state, and municipal clients. You will model designs using Civil3D and/or MicroStation/OpenRoads, lead roadway design for small to mid-size projects, and mentor junior engineers under a project manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college.
• 10+ years of transportation engineering experience including roadway, highway, interchange, trail and/or transit design.
• Colorado Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain CO PE within six months.
• Modeling, design, and plan production experience with Civil3D and/or MicroStation/InRoads/Open Roads.
• Experience in development of roadway plans, specifications, and opinions of probable costs.
• Ability to multi-task several projects at once while staying on budget and on schedule.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office for reports and correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Develop trail/roadway/intersection/interchange design criteria per standards.
• Complete conceptual design layouts for horizontal and vertical design.
• Develop conceptual design graphics and planning exhibits.
• Provide input for environmental study limits and areas of potential effect.
• Assist PM in data collection limits for survey and geotechnical investigations.
• Model transportation designs using Civil3D and/or MicroStation/OpenRoads.
• Coordinate roadway design with other disciplines and subconsultants.
• Oversee junior engineers in producing roadway construction documents.
• Prepare project provisions and specification packages.
• Maintain organized electronic records and meeting minutes.
• Determine required right-of-way and easements.
• Oversee roadway quantity calculations and cost estimates.
• Assist in meetings and project schedules and budget adherence.
