Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transportation Data Steward to lead data definition and governance across the Transportation Business Group. This embedded role focuses on enabling consistent data practices, supporting project delivery, and driving data reuse across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in the Resources engineering industry.
• Experience in development and management of diverse teams.
• Ability to work cooperatively with leaders, managers, and directors.
• Commitment to HDR values and active participation in employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Establish and coordinate a network of SME expertise across the Transportation Business Group to define technical standards.
• Develop and maintain business-aligned data definitions for key terms supporting models, reporting, automation, and AI use cases.
• Build alignment around data processes, priority, and expected use via your technical network.
• Promote consistent, responsible use of technical data, including access, quality, formatting, and reuse.
• Support governance of externally sourced datasets and lifecycle considerations.
• Promote data fluency across the Transportation Business Group.
• Coordinate with the Technology Director to align data workflows with Transportation BG strategy.
• Lead change management to drive adoption of data standards and tools.
• Regularly communicate with other Data Stewards and Enterprise Data teams to align efforts.
• Ensure new tools for the Transportation BG align to data strategy.
