Job summary

1898 & Co. in Wallingford, CT is seeking a Transmission Planning Project Manager to lead client engagements and deliver advanced power system studies.

You will manage scope, schedule, and budget while guiding multidisciplinary teams and interfacing with utilities, ISOs/RTOs, and developers. This role combines business development, technical leadership, and mentorship to shape North America’s grid modernization efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, computer science or related field with 5 years of experience.
• Proficient in project management methodologies and procedures.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Experience leading technical consulting in power systems, planning, and grid modernization.
• Experience with consulting projects, client operations, or program management in critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Manage full lifecycle of transmission planning projects including scope, schedule, and budget.
• Lead risk assessment processes using industry best practices.
• Direct and coordinate multidisciplinary teams of engineers and analysts.
• Communicate project status, risks, and costs to stakeholders and leadership.
