Job summary

Enercon Services, Inc. seeks a Senior or Principal Transmission Planning Engineer to lead power system studies and mentor engineers. This role blends technical depth with leadership across projects and industry engagement.

The position can be based in Tampa, FL or other US offices, including remote in the US. You will perform load flow, short circuit, and stability studies, model economic production costs, and ensure NERC compliance while collaborating with ISO/RTO stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; 6+ years in transmission planning.
• Experience with GE PSLF, TARA, Gridview, PowerWorld, PSSE, PROMOD; PSCAD experience.
• Familiar with ISO transmission systems and policies; generator interconnection.
• Strong client relationships and communication skills.
• EIT with ability to become PE; leadership experience.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Proven leadership for team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers through complex power system studies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver reliable transmission solutions.
• Perform power system modeling: load flow, short circuit, stability.
• Conduct economic modeling: production cost simulations.
• Ensure compliance with NERC standards and planning criteria.
• Participate in ISO/RTO forums and regulatory discussions.
• Review work for quality and deliverables.
