Job summary

MRINetwork is seeking a Principal Engineer in Transmission System Planning to provide technical leadership in long‑range planning and engineering studies. You will model the bulk electric power system, forecast loads, and design improvements including AC lines, storage, and IBR. Hybrid work arrangements are available across multiple sites.

The role requires advanced power systems knowledge, strong communication skills, and experience with industry standards and planning processes.

Qualifications

• MSEE, Power Systems or similar; PhD preferred.
• Professional Engineer license desirable.
• 10+ years of transmission planning, software simulations and IBR modeling.

Responsibilities

• Lead/review reliability and strategic planning studies under various system conditions.
• Provide engineering input for robust, low‑cost solutions.
• Communicate results to stakeholders and prepare reports.
• Coordinate with ISO‑NE, area owners and other departments to ensure reliability.
• Mentor engineers and support team through training.
