Job summary

Evergreen Talent Partners is seeking a senior Transmission Planning Engineer in Michigan with a hybrid schedule. You will lead complex planning studies, make independent technical calls, and mentor junior engineers.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and at least 5 years in electrical engineering within transmission, power or utilities operations, plus hands-on experience with PROMOD, PSCAD, PowerWorld, PSS/E, and load flow/stability/contingency

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in transmission, power or utilities operations.
• Experience with PROMOD, PSCAD, PowerWorld, PSS/E, Load flow, stability, contingency analysis, and NERC/FERC and ISO/RTO markets knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex planning studies with minimal oversight.
• Set and review testing procedures for transmission projects.
• Oversee significant projects end to end from concept to implementation.
• Mentor junior engineers and act as a go-to resource for technical guidance.

Transmission Planning Engineer - Michigan (Hybrid)

Evergreen is recruiting for a client in Michigan, a major energy company, for an experienced Transmission Planning Engineer. This is a senior role for someone who can lead complex planning studies with minimal oversight, make independent technical calls, and guide new approaches on tough problems.

You’ll work closely with internal teams, vendors, and regulators, set and review testing procedures, oversee significant projects end to end, and help bring new technology into the fold. There’s also a mentoring piece, acting as a go-to resource for junior engineers. Hybrid schedule, must be commutable to the site, and part of the team’s emergency response during storms or major service disruptions.

This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and at least 5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering within transmission, power and / or utilities operations, as well as experience with:
