Job summary

Michels Power, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager for Transmission Line Construction to lead high-impact grid projects across the United States.

You will oversee proposal through closeout, ensure safety and quality, manage budgets and schedules, and coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and field teams on multi-site transmission initiatives. The ideal candidate will have 5–7+ years in project management within transmission, utility, or heavy civil construction, with strong contract,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5–7+ years of project management experience, preferably in transmission line, utility, or heavy civil construction.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects or phases of larger projects simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of contracts, scheduling, and cost control.
• Experience with project management software (Primavera, HCSS, or similar).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to travel and support long-term, project-based assignments.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from proposal and bidding through execution and closeout.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all project activities.
• Review project plans and contracts to define scope, schedule, staffing, and resource requirements.
• Manage project performance, including schedule adherence, cost control, and risk management.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project partners.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for contractual matters, including changes and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with field leadership to coordinate construction activities and ensure efficient execution.
• Develop and manage project work plans, assigning responsibilities and driving accountability.
• Review project status reports and adjust schedules or plans as needed.
• Prepare and present reports to leadership, clients, and stakeholders.
• Coordinate compliance with regulatory requirements and customer specifications.
• Lead or support bid development, RFP responses, and estimating efforts as needed.
• Resolve project challenges proactively and elevate issues when appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
