Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks a Lead Transmission Line Engineer for its office in Atlanta, GA, or other US locations. You will lead design from 12 kV to 500 kV overhead lines and 12 kV to 230 kV underground projects, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with clients and regulators.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering, PE eligibility, and at least 5 years in transmission lines design, with PLS software proficiency. Competitive compensation offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• P.E. registration required or eligible within 1–2 years.
• Minimum 5 years of transmission lines design experience.
• Proficient with PLS software suite and EMF/line loss analysis.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in securing T&D projects by sourcing active RFPs and developing proposals.
• Build and manage a team of T&D engineers to supplement other disciplines.
• Detailed design of 12 kV to 500 kV overhead transmission lines from concept to construction.
• Design underground transmission lines from 12 kV to 230 kV.
• Conduct feasibility and planning studies.
• Prepare project cost estimates including engineering, materials, and construction.
• Prepare construction and material specifications for tenders and contracts.
• Mentor junior engineers; interface with clients and contractors.
• Coordinate with disciplines, review work, and interface with permitting bodies.
• Perform field reviews during construction; potential project engineer/manager role.
