Job summary

TYLin seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer (Traction Power) to lead complex Rail + Transit projects across the nation from its Washington, DC area office. You will direct the design of traction power systems and supervise multidisciplinary teams to deliver technically rigorous solutions.

The role requires a PE license (DC/MD/VA preferred) and 10+ years of experience in heavy rail, commuter rail, or related systems, with strong communication and client-facing skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required; Master's preferred.
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; reciprocity accepted in DC/MD/VA area.
10+ years of traction power and rail electrification experience.

Responsibilities

Lead design of traction power systems including TPSS, rectifier/transformer, DC switchgear, OCS power interfaces.
Coordinate with civil/track/signals and interface with utilities and transit agencies.
Support proposals, client meetings, and technical presentations to grow Rail + Transit practice.
