Job summary

TYLin, a global infrastructure consulting firm, seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer (Traction Power) to lead complex Rail + Transit projects in the US. The role emphasizes technical leadership, design of TPSS, traction substation systems, and coordination with civil, track, signals, and utility stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in traction power, a PE license, and experience with heavy/urban rail systems.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in traction power and rail electrification design.
• PE license preferred; reciprocity or ability to obtain.
• Strong understanding of DC traction power and AC interconnections.
• Experience with heavy rail, commuter rail, light rail, or streetcar systems.
• Proven leadership and ability to mentor engineers and guide teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead traction power system design including TPSS and substations.
• Perform load flow, short-circuit, voltage drop studies.
• Develop specs, drawings, calculations, QA/QC reviews.
• Act as Engineer of Record where applicable.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline teams and agencies.
• Support proposals and technical pursuits for regional transit.
