Job summary

TYLin seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer (Traction Power) to support and lead complex Rail + Transit infrastructure projects nationwide, serving multiple R+T agencies.

This role emphasizes technical leadership, design, and cross-disciplinary coordination, with PE license, BS in EE (MS preferred), and 10+ years in traction power for heavy/light rail. Based in DC/MD/VA corridor with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license; reciprocity in DC/MD/VA preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in traction power and rail electrification design.
• Experience with heavy rail, commuter rail, light rail, or streetcar systems.
• Knowledge of DC traction power, AC utility interconnections, protection and grounding.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of traction power systems including TPSS, rectifier/transformer systems.
• Develop design criteria, specifications, drawings, and calculations.
• Conduct design reviews and QA/QC compliance.
• Coordinate with civil, track, signals, and systems disciplines.
• Support construction services, RFIs, submittal reviews, and field inspections.
• Assist proposals and technical pursuits for regional transit agencies.
