Job summary

University Dining at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is seeking a Temporary Lead Cook to supervise 1–5 student employees across Residential, Food Court, C-Store, Satellite, and Catering sites. Lead duties include training, quality control, and ensuring standards of service and sanitation.

The role supports 75% FTE with paid hours during the academic year and summer options. Must meet ServSafe expectations and be able to work extended shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to work extended hours up to 12 hours on some days.
• Ability to push or pull wheeled carts weighing up to 200#
• Ability to lift cases of food products weighing up to 50#
• Knowledge of efficient and safe use of food service equipment such as ovens, choppers, slicers, fryers, etc.
• Knowledge of food production methods and sanitation

Responsibilities

• Trains and guides student workers
• Greets customers, answers questions, and provides information regarding food preparation and associated activities
• Cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas
• Performs routine and non-routine food preparation activities including cook to order and specialty foods
• Adheres to federal, state, campus, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures
