Komatsu is seeking a Lead Technician for their Mesa facility by the Mesa Gateway Airport. The role focuses on planning, job coordination, parts readiness, and scope accuracy to keep the heavy mechanical shop running smoothly.

The position requires coordination with internal partners, supervision of hourly staff, and ensuring high-quality repairs and maintenance on electric mining shovels in open-pit environments. Onsite work Monday–Thursday with days varying by business needs.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of experience maintaining and repairing electric mining shovels or electric drive haul trucks, including rebuilding components and large gear cases.
• Onsite work in a Mesa rebuild shop.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and Komatsu operating procedures.
• Safety-focused planning with high accuracy and quality.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with SAP preferred but not required.

Aufgaben

• Coordinate shop workflow and determine job priorities based on business needs.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to decide which jobs to complete first and ensure smooth execution.
• Review and develop job scopes to support accurate planning and execution.
• Verify parts lists and confirm required materials are available before work begins.
• Direct hourly workforce; flexibility in overtime and weekends as needed to meet goals.
• Supervise hourly staff to Komatsu policies, 5S, and safety standards.
• Oversee quality of work and keep Cost of Poor Quality low as set by Komatsu.
• Coordinate day-to-day operations of the heavy mechanical shop, including RENEW tear down and inspection to delivery.
• Ensure equipment is in top condition via audits and preventive maintenance.
• Perform field service maintenance and repairs on electric mining shovels in open-pit mine environments.
• Change and rebuild major shovel components (hoist, swing, propell transmissions, large gear cases).
• Diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot complex equipment systems.
