Job summary

1-800-Packouts is hiring in the Richmond area for Lead Technicians who will lead a crew of 2–4 technicians. You’ll oversee inventorying, packing with care, and transporting contents back to our climate-controlled warehouse after loss events.

You’ll travel to customers’ homes in the Richmond area and work with PPE and moving equipment to ensure quality service. You’ll be part of a premier packout company focused on contents restoration, with opportunities for advancement and a strong team culture

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team and meeting goals.
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
• Willing to travel to customer locations in the Richmond area.

Responsibilities

• Lead a crew of 2–4 Technicians and oversee inventorying, packing with care, and transporting contents to the warehouse.
• Travel to customer homes in the Richmond area to perform packouts after a loss.
• Ensure PPE, gloves, lights, dollies, moving straps and other equipment are used properly.
• Coordinate with customers during the inventory and packing process and maintain a high service standard.

What is a packout

When someone suffers a loss to their property (think fire, water, or storm damage) we are there to carefully pack up all their belongings, inventory with pictures, clean them if needed and store them in our climate-controlled warehouse before carefully bringing everything back to them in an effort to get their lives back to normal. What will you do

Your day-to-day responsibilities will be to travel in our trucks and vans to our customer’s house in the Richmond area who have suffered a loss. You will lead a team of 2-4 Technicians and oversee inventorying, packing with care, and transporting the customers contents back to our warehouse for storage.

Sometimes the environment can be difficult, but we provide all the necessary equipment for you to do your job well (PPE, gloves, lights, dollies, moving straps etc.). We communicate with the customer and work with them as we carefully inventory and pack up the affected area and load everything onto our vehicles.

Sometimes the content needs to be cleaned before storage and we do that on site at our warehouse using ultrasonic tanks and ozone rooms to restore the items to their pre-loss condition.

Requirements

• Clean Driving record and valid driver’s license
• Must pass drug test and background check
• Must be willing to show up daily and work hard as a part of a high performing team
• Be willing to lead with care and attention to detail
