Job summary

SAIC at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD seeks a Technical Writer to support a fast-paced Quick Reaction Capabilities Integration team under Army DEVCOM, C5ISR, on a QRC contract. You will lead creation and maintenance of technical documentation and collaborate with engineers and SMEs to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience required; four years may substitute for degree.
• Proven experience developing technical documentation with standards compliance.
• Experience creating project schedules and management tools (POA&Ms).
• Strong knowledge of MIL-STD-38784, MIL-STD-40051E, and ISO/IEC/IEEE 12207-2026.
• Strong understanding of Army terminology, structure and writing styles.
• Experience with Army IETMs and TMs per MIL-STDs.
• Experience with secured documentation at a secured location.
• Experience with MS Office, Jira/Confluence, and Adobe Pro.

Responsibilities

• Lead creation, maintenance, and management of technical documentation and governance artifacts.
• Ensure critical information is clearly communicated for operational and strategic decisions.
• Author structured content, validate documentation, and manage governance updates.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, and SMEs; ensure alignment with customer formats and standards.
