Job summary

Komatsu America Corp. in Peoria, IL seeks a Lead Writer to manage manuals for parts, service, and operator content. You will coordinate projects, set deadlines, and use Asana/Instagantt and reporting tools to keep the department on track.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication or related field and five years of experience; strong experience with XML/authoring tools, ERP/BOM, and Adobe Creative Suite; travel up to 10% domestic and 5% international.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Mechanical Engineering or related field and five years of related experience.
• Experience with XML/Structured Authoring Tools (Framemaker, OxygenXML, Arbortext).
• Experience with ERP and BOM management and technical writing.

Responsibilities

• Manage Department Projects using Asana, Instagantt, and reporting tools.
• Create and revise Parts, Service, and Operator Manuals for Komatsu machinery.
• Interview SMEs to gather content and oversee illustration processes.
• Maintain SOPs and improve workflows across the department.
• Respond to Technical Service Inquiries and resolve content issues.
