Komatsu America Corp. invites skilled technical writers to join its team in Peoria, IL.
Use Asana, Instagantt, and reporting tools to oversee writer projects.
Review and approve new project setups; assign due dates; review projects weekly to ensure deadlines are met.
Support team goal completion through Asana and Instagantt; identify potential bottlenecks; forecast assignments for writers.
Analyze engineering and field data for new machines and updates; evaluate Bills of Materials and Engineering Change Notices; correct materials based on field notifications.
Interview subject matter experts; manage illustrations through approved vendors; create drawings using 3D CAD, 2D part and assembly drawings.
Use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to modify illustrations; maintain and improve Standard Operating Procedures for all manual types.
Manage inquiries from the online field reporting system; research and resolve content issues; collaborate with customers, SMEs, and Komatsu Ltd.
Handle Parts Change Requests using data analysis tools; correct errors in source material and coordinate with distribution team.
Support workflow management and SOPs; create, revise, and maintain department workflows and procedures.
Collaborate with engineering management to improve review times, meeting quality, and writer proficiency.
Develop new technology or system solutions to enhance speed, accuracy, and quality of content creation.
Support department goals and initiatives; perform other tasks as directed by management.
Telecommuting: permitted within a normal commuting distance of the worksite one day per week. Employees supervised: three (3) technical writers. Travel: up to 10% domestic travel and up to 5% international travel required.
