Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker is seeking a Manager of Technical Publications & Product Graphics to lead the technical writing and on-product graphics teams in Towson, MD. You will oversee manuals, user guides, and labeling for Power Tools and collaborate with engineering, regulatory, and marketing to ensure accuracy and branding alignment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s and 5+ years in technical publications with 3+ years of leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, Graphic Communications, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical publications, technical writing, labeling, product graphics, or related functions.
• Minimum of 3 years of people leadership experience with cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience with regulatory, safety, and compliance requirements related to product documentation and labeling.
• Strong document control, revision management, and cross-functional review processes.
• Experience with structured authoring and content management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Technical Writing and On-Product Graphics teams, establishing clear priorities, performance expectations, and development plans.
• Oversee the creation, review, approval, and release of instruction manuals, user guides, labels, and on-product graphics for Power Tools products.
• Ensure documentation and on-product graphics are accurate, clear, consistent, and aligned with product design, brand standards, and approved safety and regulatory requirements.
• Build team capability, strengthen processes, and ensure appropriate resource planning to support product development timelines and launch commitments.
• Partner with Engineering, Product Management, Regulatory, Legal, Quality, and Marketing to ensure documentation supports regulatory standards across global markets.
• Drive content structure consistency, terminology, and document quality across product lines.
• Identify opportunities for simplification, digitization, and continuous improvement.
• Support translation and localization activities for global launches.
