Brigham Young University’s Department of Dance is seeking an Associate Technical Director to support lighting, scenery, audio, rigging, and special effects for departmental performances and tours. The role includes mentoring students and hands-on production experience on CFAC stages and campus venues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in technical theatre or related field.
• Experience in professional theatre, live entertainment, and/or touring productions.
• Ability to estimate costs and manage budgets.
• Understanding of production disciplines including audio, video, rigging, and fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate production development with artistic staff and designers.
• Supervise construction, installation, and maintenance of scenery and props.
• Manage production budgets, materials, and labor for tours and campus performances.
• Provide technical direction during domestic and international tours.
• Mentor and supervise student crews and ensure safety procedures.
