Job summary

Brigham Young University is seeking a 2D and 3D Production Technology Specialist in the Department of Art. The role involves maintaining and training students in the department’s production equipment, including 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC routers, and large-format printers.

The position requires strong organizational skills, a proactive approach to improving processes, and good communication. Part-time 17.5 hours/week with benefits and on-campus perks.

Qualifications

• Experience with producing art using 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC routers, large-format inkjet printers, Risograph printers, and matting/framing equipment.
• Ability to learn and maintain the listed equipment quickly.
• Good organizational skills and proactive improvement mindset.
• Effective communication with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and organize the department's stock of video, photo, and audio equipment and large production gear.
• Train students and others in safe use of tools and equipment.
• Supervise student use of sensitive equipment (printers, cutters, etc.).
• Manage checkout system for small equipment with department staff.
