The role requires at least five years in mechanical, structural, electrical or electronics trades, plus relevant certifications or a four-year apprenticeship. Security clearance is listed as Confidential with a wide salary range.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent with a trade school certification or equivalent.
• Industrial school certification is acceptable.
• Military training program certification or apprenticeship completion qualifies.
• Five years in mechanical/structural/electrical/electronics trades including apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Serve as backup to the Fore Person and maintain a similar level of experience and expertise.
• Apply QA procedures to shipboard equipment and systems as part of daily operations.
