Job summary

Horizons for Homeless Children Inc. is seeking a Supervising Teacher for Infant and Toddler classrooms in Roxbury, MA. The role oversees daily classroom operations, supervises teachers, and collaborates with the Assistant Director to ensure adherence to horizons policies and trauma-informed practices.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and EEC Lead Teacher certification, with a $4,000 hiring bonus. The Supervising Teacher will lead curriculum design, conduct regular staff observations,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or an unrelated field required.
• DEEC Lead Teacher Certification required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience, preferably in an NAEYC Accredited program.
• Strong supervisory and leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Staffing and supervision of classroom teachers; conduct performance reviews.
• Orient new team members to routines and curriculum.
• Conduct monthly observations, feedback and goal setting.
• Make probationary or termination decisions as needed.
• Lead curriculum development with trauma-informed practices and IEPs/learning plans.
• Model positive behavior management and family engagement.
• Communicate clearly with parents and coordinate progress reports and conferences.
• Collaborate with staff and partners to provide coordinated services.
