Job summary

Horizons for Homeless Children seeks an experienced Supervising Teacher-Infant and Toddler to manage daily operations, supervise staff, and align with Horizons policies. The role reports to the Assistant Director of Early Childhood Education Programs and ensures trauma-informed practices across curriculum.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree and EEC Lead Teacher certification, with prior supervisory experience in an NAEYC-accredited program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or an unrelated field required.
• DEEC LEAD Teacher Certification
• Minimum of 3 years' teaching experience, in an NAEYC Accredited program preferred.
• Demonstrated success in supervision, strongly preferred.
• Fluency in English and Spanish or Haitian Creole strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a role model for staff in interactions with children and families.
• Orient new team members to classroom routines and curriculum implementation.
• Supervise performance of classroom Teachers and conduct performance reviews and regular assessments.
• Using reflective supervision practices, conduct monthly observations, feedback, and goal setting of teaching staff.
• Participate in decisions regarding probationary action and termination of employment
