Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a Project Engineer II – Systems Hardware (Finance) to join a team driving hardware development, schedules, and qualification tests in Torrance, CA. The role emphasizes leadership across cross-functional teams and strong program management to deliver complex aerospace hardware.

You will design, implement, and manage hardware systems, collaborate with global engineering leaders, and contribute to safety, reliability, and productivity improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
• 2 years of related engineering experience (post-graduate education can substitute for work experience).
• Ability to drive small teams (1-3 subject matter experts) to execute technical engineering tasks.
• Proven track record of delivering complex engineering projects on time and within budget.
• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead the procurement and tracking of system hardware to support the development and qualification test campaign.
• Coordinate and manage the buyers, planners, government stores, hardware coordinators, and other Integrated Supply Chain functions.
• Create and maintain a detailed hardware tracking schedule.
• Be the 'Squeaky Wheel' to keep groups delivering to the schedule.
• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables with stakeholders.
• Support system architecture trades.
• Support verification plan development and execution including formal qualification.
• Develop and manage project schedule and milestones.
• Prepare project estimation and budget based on verification plan.
• Develop and manage risk and opportunities.
• Oversee project execution and performance.
