Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in Phoenix seeks a Lead Hardware Engineer to drive design, validation and delivery of aerospace hardware on cutting-edge avionics projects. You will lead hardware teams across board design, mechanical, FPGA, and safety, coordinating schedules and requirements traceability using DOORS.

The role demands 10+ years in hardware design, strong problem-solving, leadership, and mentoring skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical/Electronics/Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of hardware design and development experience.
• Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools.
• Experience with hardware Validation and Verification.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience with DO-160 and DO-254.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate hardware teams (board design, mechanical, FPGA, Safety etc.) in development of product hardware.
• Develop project plans and support schedule development.
• Use DOORS to create and/or trace hardware requirements to higher and lower-level requirements including validation and verification.
• Lead team to develop and perform hardware verification tests.
• Lead customer interactions and ensure timely and successful delivery of programs within scope and budget.
• Interface with Honeywell Aerospace production (factory) to produce hardware.
• Provide strong leadership and mentorship to team members.
• Troubleshoot complex issues under pressure.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in systems engineering.
